Journal - Day 41 of January 2018 Whole30 - gluten reintro

• Day 10: Introduce gluten grains Wed 2/14
Day 10: Evaluate gluten-containing grains, while keeping the rest of your diet Whole30 compliant.  Gluten is such nasty stuff that we want to break it out from the other grains, so you can evaluate it all by itself. Over the course of your day, eat a muffin, two slices of whole wheat bread, and a side of whole wheat pasta, while paying attention to how you feel. Then, return to the Whole30 for the next two days, and see how things go. Pay attention, evaluate and decide how, how often and how much to incorporate gluten grains into your regular diet—if at all. *Anything made from wheat, rye, or barley.

• Days 11-12: Monitor your response Thu/Fri 2/15-16

Breakfast: 1 blueberry muffin, 1 banana walnut muffin (they were the size of cupcakes), 1 hard boiled egg, spinach, tomato confit.
Lunch: Steak salad with dump ranch.
Dinner: Chili with spinach, sour dough bread, tomato confit.

Stomach really hurt after breakfast, and I felt weighed down. Stomachache persisted until lunch, but I was hungry so I ate my leftover steak with a plain salad and dump ranch dressing, but decided to skip the sourdough bread. Mood-wise I'm pretty irritable! The weather is bad (raining cats and dogs), and my doctor cancelled my first thing in the morning appointment because they were stuck in traffic (rude). So, it could be a combination of gluten and a bad start to the day, or it could be gluten. I felt OK enough at dinner time to eat the sourdough bread, but stomachache came up, and persisted to bedtime. I had a really hard time sleeping because of this, and I slept fitfully, and woke up a few times.
